Treatments
- Arthroscopy
Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to identify and repair problems in the knee joint. During the procedure, the doctor will make a small incision above the joint and insert a small camera. The camera will display high-resolution images on a monitor, and your doctor can use the video images to guide small tools into the joint. Arthroscopy can be used to remove or repair damaged cartilage, debride cartilage, repair ligaments, remove loose fragments, and remove inflamed tissues.
- Meniscus Repair
A meniscus repair is a surgical procedure used to treat a torn meniscus, the cartilage that connects the thigh bone to the shinbone. During the procedure, the doctor will make a small incision over the knee and use a camera and small tools to repair the tear with sutures. If the tear is severe, your doctor may remove part or all of the meniscus.
- ACL Repair and Reconstruction.
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the primary ligaments that stabilizes and supports the knee. ACL reconstruction is a surgical procedure used to treat a torn ACL. During the procedure, the doctor will remove the damaged ligament and replace it with a graft that’s created from other soft tissues. Common areas for soft tissue harvest are from the tendons in front of and behind the knee joint.
- Total Knee Replacement Surgery
A total knee replacement surgery is recommended when severe arthritis leads to pain, stiffness, and loss of mobility that’s affecting your quality of life. During the procedure, the doctor will make a small incision over the knee, cut away the damaged joint surfaces, and replace them with prosthetic implants.
- Total Hip Replacement Surgery
A total hip replacement is recommended when severe arthritis leads to pain, stiffness, and loss of mobility that’s affecting your quality of life. During the procedure, the ball and socket components of the joint are removed and replaced with prosthetic implants.
