Dr. Nitin Chhabra, M.D. is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. His college education took place at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. Mobile, AL, was the site of his medical education at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. His residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in pain management were completed at the University of Louisville.
The following year, Dr. Chhabra returned to Birmingham, Alabama, where he joined a pain clinic and started an Anesthesiology business, providing anesthesia for dental patients. Dr. Nitin Chhabra is a proud supporter of BEST Health System and is excited to help patients get the care they need through his expertise with Spinal Cord Stimulator treatment.
Dr. Chhabra medical method includes multimodal pain management, focusing on interventional techniques and medical management. He believes in using opioids only when needed, and at the lowest effective dose.
Dr. Chhabra has learned that every patient’s story is unique, and treatment needs to be tailored accordingly. Taking the time and energy to fully understand a patient’s medical history, current symptoms, and health goals is critical to their well-being. He strives to help patients become more functional, so they can get back to what’s important to them. This is at the core of every patient interaction he has at the practice.
Dr. Chhabra is happily married and is the proud father of his three daughters. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, and watching college football.
